J.B. Hunt Review by Anonymous, January 3, 2009
I worked for JB for 6 loooong years. Everything they say is true-and then some. Of course, back then we only had cabovers; so a few things are better now. JB Hunt, like most big companies, promises you the moon and the stars, but ends up giving you the dregs. The only reason I stayed so long is that I knew how to work the system-say your considering quitting unless they get you onto regional, and they’ll do it (if you are a good driver). I used to run NYC and Canada, so maybe that kept me there longer than most. I could tell you so many stories-like the time I came back after Christmas, and they told me that I’d have to wait 3 weeks for a truck! (True story-but my local unemployment office called them when I claimed layoff benefits, and they had me into a truck in 3 days). Here’s another one: my dispatcher told me that my regular run should’ve been paying me $.02 less than I’d been getting, and that they were going to dock my pay retroactive for 2 years to make up for it-about $4800 in total. I was furious! I contacted the state labor relation’s board, and they told JB that they couldn’t do that. Well, it was all-downhill from there. Finally, after another 4 months, after numerous harassments, they finally terminated me. Thankfully. Then, about 2 moths later, they challenged my unemployment claim. Sheesh!
