Marten Transport Review by Anonymous, July 18, 2010
Marten made a 4 million dollar profit in 2009
The drivers took a 10% pay cut and were forced onto per-diem….
If that’s not bad enough we’re paid shortest distance zip code to zip code not door to door.
Working for Marten is nothing short of indentured servitude
planners who can’t plan, paperless logs, and they push anyone not on paperless logs to cover their butt (try to push to run illegal or short your miles)
I hope csa scores force Marten to actually treat their drivers better than slaves
Some drivers tell me it could be worse, but I don’t see how. On top of being cheated on pay we do huge amounts of work that we don’t get paid for at all. They won’t even pay for an occasional truck wash.
I’m sure Roger Marten is spinning in his grave because he never would have condoned the current status quo.

Have been with Marten for 5 years. 4 as an O/O and now 1 as a Company Driver. Worked for several companies including some in your survey. The only critisizm I have of Marten is their layover pay. $25 for 24 hrs. does not even buy 3 meals anymore.
