Schneider National Review by Anonymous, January 15, 2009
I’ve been with Schneider since February, they did my primary training, and as far as I am concerned, that is all they are good for… I am currently looking to move to another company that will pay more, give me more time at home, etc… As far as teaming, I would recommend against it… While you do get a new tractor, I don’t think its worth it. I teamed for about 2 months, and just couldn’t sleep with the truck bouncing all over the road. My first tractor was a 2005 conventional… This tractor had more problems then my current ‘99 conventional. Apparently freightliner tried a bunch of new stuff on the 05 models that doesn’t work right. An example… Both west coast mirrors shake like you wouldn’t believe making it impossible to see behind you, and maintenance refuses to fix it. My ‘99 tractor seems to be in decent shape for something with 780,000 miles on it… When i first picked it up the fuel filter was so clogged that i couldn’t go more than 10 mph up small hills, but after fixing that, I haven’t had any problems. Hope this helps.

I’ve been driving for Schneider on my own for 4 months now, have a great STL (dispatcher) that I do good for her she takes as good a care of me as possible. I pulled through on a couple of accounts that was about to be lost and they decided to keep with us because of my performance so I was told, got a couple of att a boys for it and made my quarterly bonus. I griped about being sent to New Jersey so much so got a long haul to Texas, and back and it felt great. So I feel they are fair and do all they can to keep you satisfied and with the company. I seem to run 11-12 days at a time and get home on Sun/Mon out on tues. Not getting rich but getting enough miles to make a decent paycheck. Probably get more as time goes on. If you choose Schneider I feel you made a good choice.
